Jocelyn grew up moving around with her single mom and younger siblings but always found her way back to San Jose. She first started at the center in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic, after finding out she was pregnant. After a life of struggle with her single mother, she realized she didn’t want that lifestyle for herself or her son. So she continued with Freedom Circle meetings and getting involved with the Center through things like life coaching and applying for internships. After a life full of loss, Jocelyn decided she wanted to get involved in changing the system, from the streets to prisons/detention centers and unstable housing for youth.
