What We Do
Freedom Center
Freedom Center is a new division of Young Women’s Freedom Center providing back-end infrastructure for YWFC and fiscal sponsorship of Sister Warriors Freedom Coalition and Beloved Community Housing and other initiatives and organizations working toward a shared political vision of realizing the Sister Warriors Freedom Charter.
Born out of 30 years of work toward ending the criminalization and incarceration of women and trans people of all genders, the purpose of the Freedom Center is to provide fiscal sponsorship, operational support, coaching, and training to projects that center systems-impacted people.
Our fiscally sponsored projects
Beloved Youth is the pilot program of Beloved Village that provides community-based housing innovations and a continuum of care to girls and trans youth of all genders as alternatives to incarceration and congregate care
Sister Warriors Freedom Coalition is the largest member-led coalition organizing formerly incarcerated and systems-impacted women and trans people of all genders. We are reimagining our systems, culture, and policies to make liberated and abundant futures possible for us, our families, and our communities.
ReImagine Freedom incubates and nurtures ideas, people, and initiatives to increase the economic power and freedom of women and gender-expansive people, our families, and communities.
