Desiree is a young Latina woman from a Mexican-American family, the youngest daughter of four siblings. As the first generation in her family to attend college, she earned a degree in Child and Adolescent Development with a concentration in Community, Health, and Social Services from San Francisco State University.
Growing up, she struggled to fit in and escape the harsh realities of her home life, but eventually turned her life around. She has previously worked in education, disability care, and social work, and is now proud to contribute to the Young Women’s Freedom Center, where she empowers and inspires youth facing their own challenges.
