Jennifer Santos is formerly impacted by the system. She experienced homelessness, incarceration, and gang and domestic violence as a young person. As time passed by through the trauma and pain, she got enough insight to want a better future and better herself to be successful. The Center has provided her a strong support system to build her leadership and personal healing.
She’s a single mother of 2 boys and has proudly regained their custody after having them taken away due to domestic violence. Her desire is to help youth that are impacted by the system and hopes she can make a difference in people’s lives and be there to help with their present struggles.
Her plans are to continue her leadership development by being an Organizing Fellow at Young Women’s Freedom Center, leading a healing class for domestic violence survivors, and helping launch and facilitate the Young Mother’s United program.
