Proud first generation chicana. Los Angeles born and raised. Jennifer has learned how to navigate systems that were meant to keep her bound. The youngest of three daughters, she has always sought to change cycles starting within her own home. Inspired by the people in her community, such as grade school teachers, fellow peers and other adults who positively impacted her and ignited an ever burning flame for social justice, she has always been an advocate for those that found it hard to voice themselves. Incarcerated as a juvenile, Jennifer had to learn to use her voice to get out of a system that many struggle with navigating. An adventurous student of life, she has always held on to the saying that goes “a man that knows everything knows that he knows nothing at all.” Dedicated to helping dismantle violent systems and serving her community is how she honors her daughter, fallen comrades, and herself.
