Freedom Center is the strategic home of the Freedom Charter and the umbrella organization for Young Women’s Freedom Center, Beloved Community Housing, Sister Warriors Freedom Coalition, and other emerging initiatives and organizations toward the liberation of women and girls and trans people of all genders most harmed by mass incarceration and racist and sexist policies. The mission of Freedom Center is to provide fiscal sponsorship, operational support, coaching, and training to projects that center systems-impacted women, girls, and trans people of all genders with the primary purpose to inspire and empower young women who have been involved in the juvenile justice system, criminal justice system, and/or the underground street economy to create a positive change in their lives and communities. We envision a world in which all young women and trans youth of all genders have the support they need to recognize and end all forms of oppression, to heal, and to live self-determined lives.
The Bookkeeper is a full-time staff member of the Finance Team and is responsible for the day-to-day finance tasks of the organization under the supervision of the Director of Finance. The right candidate has experience with non-profit bookkeeping or accounting and is committed to achieving results in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities. The targeted total compensation range is $36/hr – $40/hr for this position depending on experience level and location. In addition, this position offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time staff that includes fully paid health insurance (medical, dental, and vision).
